As a recent BFA graduate from Colorado State, and a soon-to-be MFA student at University of Oregon, Courtney is currently living in Chicago and attempting to survive the constant precipitation (it's more difficult than you'd think). She shares a leaky, vintage home with an array of interesting people and unruly animals, including a very glamorous tabby cat and a very pink piglet.
Growing up on an old farm in New Jersey, she was constantly surrounded by chipping paint and living/dying/long-dead creatures of every shape and kind. In a particularly chilling childhood experience, a small mouse skull became impossibly and permanently tangled in her left shoelace after a brief walk through the grass. Needless to say, her work has been influenced ever since.
When she is not collecting bones, bugs, and rusty objects for her latest metals endeavors, she enjoys sewing, photo-taking, book-reading, warm weather-enjoying, and adventure-having. And hearing from any visitors to her new and constantly under-construction website.
